Niswarth's employees have developed "Seasons Greeting" and multi-purpose cards.
Many of the disabled residents of Bagracte Tea Garden work at the Niswarth centre, making incense sticks and greeting cards. By buying Niswarth cards this season, you will be making a valuable contribution. Currently there two kinds of cards being produced:
Handmade Cards on Handmade Paper
Each of the Niswarth greeting cards is made using hand-made recycled paper. The techniques incorporate traditional Indian artwork like colouring dried and pressed leaves, cut paper-work, and oil-paint-on-water abstract designs.
Printed Greeting Cards
Each set of greeting cards comes as a collection of 6 cards. Each of the card designs have been created (painted) by the disabled members of Niswarth and then printed.
Below are some samples of each of handmade and printed cards. New card designs are currently being developed. Ask us for further details.
Chyrsanthemum Flowers:
(Painting by Neelam Kumar)
Each of the above paintings comes as a greeting card as shown on the right.
The back page also provides the reader with a photograph of the artist and theme for the painting.
