President's Statement
(For Financial Period: 1st April 2008 - 30 March 2009)
"2008-09 marks the second year of Niswarth's operations. I'm pleased to inform you that, as the finances indicate, the organisation has progressed exceptionally well. In the first year we focussed all our efforts on building up our supply chain, core management committee and establishing a brand image. This year we've been able to capitalise on all of those efforts to boost our efforts.
The organisation has now been operating in the form of two distinct divisions. The first that helps organise various medical camps for the people and the second that provides employment to them.
In the last 12 months, we've had significant donations into the organisation that have helped us organise two key events to help the underprivilaged people in the region:
- We organised a disability camp in July to help identify disabled people and help them get disability cards and aid from the government. Over 500 people benefitted saving them a total of over Rs.7 lacs in card associate costs and Rs.3 lacs in disability aids and appliances.
- A number of eye camps have been organised in the region in collaboration with the Lions Club. The camps have seen nearly 4,000 attendees receive free eye check-ups.
- Following the unfortunate flood in Bihar, Niswarth arranged to send a number of volunteers to the region to distribute a number of items such as food, clothes and much needed medicines.
With the success of the disability camps and the positive impact it has had on the people, we are now looking to organise a number of such camps in different districts in the region. Having identified the disabled people, we're looking to medical camps through which we hope to provide free treatement to these people.
Our production arm has also done exceptionally well. Our sales have been significantly more than what we did all of last year. This is a really good testamant to the quality of our products and the value of the Niswarth brand. We are now introducing various other product ranges including Greeting Cards and Candles.

These are exciting times for the organisation and the interest shown towards it has been very encouraging.
